Community Investment

Because we care for the town of Santiago and believe it is important that the economic success of Just Apparel's Partner Artisans benefit not only those few women, but their entire community, we have established the Just Apparel Community Investment Program (JACIP). JACIP receives 90 percent of net profits from Just Apparel sales. Our partner artisans receive the other 10 percent as a year-end bonus. Beginning in 2009, JACIP funds will finance health, education, and technology programs in Santiago. It will constitute the first locally driven, locally directed source of funds to promote development in Santiago.

At the end of each year, the Just Apparel Partner Artisans will meet to identify funding priorities for JACIP - priorities that arise from their experiences as local residents. JA management will then research local projects that fit those priorities and issue grants to deserving organizations.
